Garret Depass has been a professional closeup illusionist in Colorado for the past two years. A perfect blend of sharp wit, charming conversation, and stunning sleight of hand, Garret draws his audiences in with every word and gesture, delighting them at every turn. He has had the privilege to perform in myriad settings including anything from corporate holiday parties to birthday parties (and everywhere in between). You may notice that he calls himself a 'closeup illusionist' instead of a magician. "That's absolutely on purpose," he says pointedly, "when people hear the word 'magician' their minds instantly flash to a guy in a tuxedo pulling rabbits out of hats. That's just not me- I like to keep it modern, fun, and interesting. To put it another way, I always try to put forth a character that my spectators would want to introduce to their friends."

That is exactly the effect he produces. At only 21 years of age (a formidably young age for a magician of his caliber) he has ample credibility with younger generations. On the other hand, he appeals to business professionals and older crowds as well with his polite, natural and easy going manner. His disarming nature has been, as he puts it, forged in the fires of the service industry. Working the service industry for a full third of his life, he has become fluent in the shorthand of human interaction, having dealt with groups of twenty five-year-olds and groups of fortune 500 executives. He also has an extensive theater background spanning almost as much time, being cast in more shows than he can remember. Because of this, he fully and intuitively understands the components that make up a truly fascinating and entertaining performance. He will be more than happy to put all of this experience to work at your next event.
